I wish Apple would take Progressive Web Apps seriously, and support core features such as push notifications in Safari - in a similar fashion to their macOS Safari support would be more than enough!
It’s obvious why they don’t though - the sheer number of apps that have paid their developer license fee & spent time building a dedicated app for iOS just so they have a way to push content to their end users is likely astounding. I’d hope “losing money” isn’t the main concern, but at the end of the day practically everything comes down to money 🤦♂️
In a perfect world, we’d see good PWA support in iOS and we’d be able to promote/push those “apps” in the App Store.
